SALT LAKE CITY — Sen. Chris Buttars, R-West Jordan, appears serious about his proposal to allow students to skip 12th grade to save the state money. Tuesday he opened up a bill file titled "High School Accelerated Graduation."
Buttars said his proposal would save public education $60 million. He emphasized the plan would be optional for high school students.
"There is no pressure," he said. "It's between the student and the parents."

Save $60 million up front, but what about the long-term cost? I can't get over this "man" and the fact that he gets voted in over and over. I suggest we drop West Jordan from our state roles, like he wants to drop 12 grade, and not only save us from More..
This bill will never get out of committee — it is dead on arrival.
Another terrible idea from Buttars. Somebody please vote this guy out!
