Valentine's dining options

Here are Valentine's Day restaurant dinners and food celebrations. Reservations are required for most of the dinners:

Gardner Village, 1100 W. 7800 South, West Jordan, hosts The Chocolate Bash, Feb. 20, 5-9 p.m. The event includes a chocolate fountain, hot cocoa, chocolate desserts and fashion shows at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Cost is $10 per person (801-566-0917 e-mail shauna@gardnervillage.com).

The Grand America, 555 S. Main, is offering a five-course "Romance & Roses" experience Feb. 13, for $125 per couple. The hotel's Oak Room Restaurant will be filled with roses. Also the hotel's five-course chocolate tasting with live music is every Friday and Saturday through February, beginning at 6 p.m., for $25 per table. Ten percent of the proceeds go to the American Heart Association (www.grandamerica.com or 801-801-258-6708).

The Paris, 1500 E. 1500 South, is offering a five-course menu for $69.95 per person on Feb. 14, from 5-10 p.m. Entree choices are Dover sole and Dungeness crab paupiette; lavender honey-glazed chicken breast; or pan-seared Black Angus beef Oscar. The regular menu will not be available (theparis.net).

The Blue Boar Inn is offering two specials on Feb. 14: wagyu ribeye steak served with a twice baked potato, and mixed seafood on saffron risotto. The Blue Boar's winter menu is also available. Diners can also spend the night in one of inn's 12 literary-themed rooms (888-650-1400 www.theblueboarinn.com).

The Copper Onion, 111 E. 300 South, will serve a special three-course dinner Feb. 13-14, beginning at 5 p.m. both nights. Entree choices are rib eye steak or red snapper, $75 per couple. The regular a la carte menu is also offered (801 355 3282 or www.thecopperonion.com).

Franck's, 6264 S. Holladay Blvd., is offering a five-course dinner Feb. 13 for $46.95 per person. The entree is braised short ribs with foie gras sauce (801-274-6264 or www.FrancksFood.com).

Tuscany, 2832 E. 6200 South, is offering a four-course Valentine's menu on Feb. 13, beginning at 5:30 p.m., for for $48 per person. Entree choices are prime filet mignon, chicken picatta, veal Marsala, saffron risotto with jumbo prawn, or braised beef short ribs (801-277-9919 or www.Tuscany-SLC.com).

The New Yorker Restaurant, 48 W. Market St., opens Feb. 14 at 5:30 p.m. Diners can choose a three-course dinner special for $32. Entree choices include filet mignon, chicken piccata and filet of Atlantic salmon. Regular menu items will also be served (www.newyorkerslc.com).
