Salt Lake's Interfaith Roundtable committee has 10 events planned for Interfaith Week, Feb. 14-21.
The week climaxes with an "Interfaith Musical Tribute," Sunday, Feb. 21, 6-7:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square.
Chinese music, Catholic, Presbyterian, Jewish, LDS, Greek Orthodox, Muslim, Baha'i, Sikh and Buddhist and Hindu dancers and Ute and Piute blessings will be included in the multi-faith event.
Other events include:
Saturday, Feb. 13, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. — A workshop, "Forgiving One Another as Path to Peace," at the Episcopal Diocese of Utah, 75 S. 200 East.
Sunday, Feb. 14, 3 p.m. — "Saints of the Church — St. Valentines," At the U. Newman Center, 170 S. University.
Monday, Feb. 15, 4 p.m. — "Faith of Our Founding Fathers," a presentation at the Utah State Capitol.
Tuesday, Feb. 16, 6:30 p.m. — A cooking demonstration, "Breaking of Challah Bread," at Kol Ami Jewish Center, 2425 Heritage Way.
Wednesday, Feb. 17, 7 p.m. — An Ash Wednesday, beginning of Lent event at St. Mark's Cathedral, 231 E. 100 South
Thursday, Feb. 18, 7 p.m. — "People of the Book: The Wisdom of Sacred Texts in Modern Times," at First Congregational Church, 2150 Foothill Drive.
Friday, Feb. 19, 5:30 p.m. — Open house. "Islam: Reaching Beyond Boundaries," at the Islamic Center, 1019 W. Parkway Ave. (enter 2495 S. Redwood Road).
Saturday, Feb. 20, 10:30 a.m. — Hindu Wedding Ceremony of the Gods at Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple of Utah, 1142 W. South Jordan Parkway (10400 S.)
Carole Mikita of KSL-TV, will be master of ceremonies. Free tickets are available at www.lds.org.
