Big Utah Jazz news: D-Will shaves, Boozer practices
SALT LAKE CITY — Big news at Utah Jazz practice this morning — Deron Williams has shaved.
The All-Star point guard trimmed the beard he vowed not to shave until the Jazz won five games in a row. With the Jazz having now won seven straight, Williams decided to shave his shaggy beard, but not all the way. He is now sporting a trimmed goatee.
"It's gone," Williams said. "I feel lighter. I feel like I can jump higher."
In other pressing news, Jazz power forward Carlos Boozer was a full-go for practice. He tested his strained right calf on Thursday in a practice with assistant coach Tyrone Corbin during a day off for the rest of the team. The power forward, who has missed the past three games, is optimistic he will be able to play Saturday night as long as Friday's practice goes well when the Jazz host the Northwest Division-leading Denver Nuggets.
