NBA roundup: Hot Rondo helps Celtics beat the Heat
BOSTON — Rajon Rondo had 22 points and 14 assists in his second straight outstanding game against the Miami Heat, leading the Boston Celtics to a 107-102 victory Wednesday night.
Miami lost for the fifth time in six games despite 30 points and 13 assists from Dwyane Wade.
Pierce was on the bench in street clothes for the rematch after spraining his left foot Monday night. Coach Doc Rivers said Pierce would miss at least one more game.
Ray Allen scored 23 points, including five three throws in the last 32 seconds, and Kevin Garnett added 14 and a season-high nine assists for Boston.
LAKERS 99, BOBCATS 97: At Los Angeles, Andrew Bynum had 17 points and 14 rebounds, Lamar Odom scored 19 points and Phil Jackson became the winningest coach in Lakers history. The Lakers, who returned from an eight-game trip to improve the NBA's best home record to 24-3 with their eighth consecutive victory at Staples Center.
SUNS 109, NUGGETS 97: At Denver, Amare Stoudemire had 20 points and 17 rebounds, leading the Phoenix Suns over a Denver squad missing Carmelo Anthony.
THUNDER 103, HORNETS 99: At New Orleans, Kevin Durant scored 30 points, and Russell Westbrook had 26 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds for Oklahoma City. Marcus Thornton scored 22 points for New Orleans before leaving with a lower-back contusion.
MAVERICKS 110, WARRIORS 101: At Dallas, Jason Terry had 21 points, Dirk Nowitzki scored nine of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and Dallas extended Golden State's losing streak to seven games. Monta Ellis scored a career-high 46 points.
76ERS 106, BULLS 103, OT: At Philadelphia, Elton Brand scored 26 points, and Andre Iguodala had 25 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in Philadelphia's comeback victory.
RAPTORS 108, NETS 99: At Toronto, Chris Bosh scored 20 points, Sonny Weems set career highs with 14 points and 11 rebounds and Toronto improved to 5-1 in its last six games. Andrea Bargnani added 20 points, and Antoine Wright had a season-high 18.
KNICKS 107, WIZARDS 85: At New York, Nate Robinson scored 23 points, and David Lee had 22 points and 10 rebounds to help New York snap a three-game losing streak. Robinson also had eight assists and six rebounds.
HAWKS 103, CLIPPERS 97: At Atlanta, Joe Johnson scored 34 points, Jamal Crawford added 22. Chris Kaman and Eric Gordon each scored 17 points, and Marcus Camby had six points and 20 rebounds for Los Angeles.
SPURS 115, KINGS 113: At Sacramento, Calif., George Hill had 23 points and nine assists, and Tim Duncan added 22 points and 13 rebounds.
