SUNSET — Utah's answer to the famed groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, will make his own prediction Tuesday during Sunset's first winter fest.
Expected to become an annual event, the winter fest will feature flag football, children's games, hot chocolate and a chili cookoff while residents wait for the sun to set.
The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with Sunset Sam's prediction coming exactly at sunset, as opposed to Phil's prediction, which happens at sunrise.
Tuesday marks Sam's 16th prediction, while Phil has been prognosticating for nearly 130 years.
Sam's other difference from Phil: He's a guinea pig.
Tuesday's event will be held on the west side of Sunset City Hall, 200 W. 1300 North.
