JENSEN, Uintah County — Uintah County sheriff's deputies say a 37-year-old man was stabbed by his wife with a steak knife during a fight Saturday night.
Randy Bristol and his 38-year-old wife, Vickie, were arguing while drinking around 7 p.m. when she grabbed a 6-inch steak knife and stabbed her husband in the leg, said Uintah County Sheriff's Cpl. Brian Fletcher in a press release. A relative picked up the man and took him to Ashley Regional Medical Center just before Vickie Bristol left the couple's residence in Jensen, about 13 miles east of Vernal.
Sheriff's deputies went to the hospital, where the victim was in critical condition. He was later flown to Salt Lake City with possible damage to his femoral artery. Randy Bristol is reported to be in good condition following surgery.
Vickie Bristol turned herself in Monday when she realized deputies were looking for her, the deputies say. She was booked into Uintah County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault and domestic violence in the presence of children.
