SALT LAKE CITY — Here are the coming attractions for what is a big week for the Utah Jazz, who can sleep on their own mattresses every single night.
Now is the time to make hay. After they finish off this four-game homestand, they play five of their next six games on the road. That includes four straight away from Utah after the Feb. 12-14 All-Star break.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Here's what is on tap the next seven days:
Today vs. Mavericks, today, 7 p.m., FSN
So many questions: Will D-Will shave? Did Mavs really let Andre Miller score 52? Will Dirk melt down in SLC again?
Wednesday vs. Trail Blazers, 7 p.m., FSN
Jazz could have hands full. Not cause B-Roy may play. Andre Miller (see above) suddenly thinks he's Brandon Jennings. P.S. Don't believe your schedule. This game was taken off of ESPN's schedule and tipoff was bumped up to 7 p.m. instead of 8:30 p.m. — and, yes, those are cheers you're hearing from sports writers with 11 p.m. deadlines.
Saturday vs. Nuggets, Saturday, 7 p.m., FSN
Utah is in danger of being swept for the first time in 34-year rivalry. Jazz better hope J.R. Smith comes out shooting.
The BIG stat: 3
Paul Millsap took the NBA by storm last year with 29 double-doubles, including 19 in a row, while filling in for an injured Carlos Boozer. Millsap has logged back-to-back double-doubles, including Friday's 32-point, 14-rebound effort. That strong spurt has upped his season total to three double-doubles.
Who's hot: Kyle Korver
Hit 13 of 17 treys since 0-for-3 Jan. 14 game. 3s for year: 62.5%
Who's not: Mehmet Okur
Center had quiet week: Averaged 8.3 points, 5 boards, had 43.5 FG%
