Utah Jazz: Brothers dot college landscape for Jazz players

SALT LAKE CITY — Kyle Korver jokingly says he doesn't want to tell Kevin O'Connor too much about his younger brothers who play Division I college basketball.

Telling the Jazz general manager to scout his brothers — Kaleb at Creighton and Kirk at the University of Missouri-Kansas City — could be detrimental to his job.

"They'll come and take my spot," he laughed.

At the risk of revealing a family secret — and causing a massive shift of financial dynamics among certain brothers — here is a scouting report on five Division I college basketball players who have Jazz pros for bros:

ELIJAH MILLSAP (24)

Jazz brother: Paul Millsap

School: University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)

Record: (18-3 overall, 6-1 Conference USA)

Info: 6-6, 210, Jr., SG/F

Stats: 16.2 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 33.1 mpg

Big brother's take: "Just watching (him), knowing who he is, knowing his mentality and his athleticism, he could be (an NBA player) — if he can play smart."

CHARLES BOOZER (4)

Jazz brother: Carlos Boozer

School: Iowa State

Record: (13-8 overall, 2-4 Big 12)

Info: 6-3, 205, Jr., SG

Stats: 3.5 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 9.7 mpg (out for season)

Big brother's take: "Stud, man. Great player, very athletic. Explosive. Got way more hops than I got. Fun to be around. Great kid. Growing up to be a man ... and I'm real proud of him."

KALEB KORVER (15)

Jazz brother: Kyle Korver

School: Creighton

Record: (11-11 overall, 6-5 Missouri Valley)

Info: 6-5, 190, Jr., SG

Stats: 2.4 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 13.7 mpg (five starts)

Big brother's take: "Probably the quickest, the most athletic of the four of us. He can handle the ball a little bit. Really good shooter ... He's probably, if not the, one of the best pure shooters I've ever seen in my life."
