HYRUM, Cache County — Cache County firefighters spent hours Friday battling a stubborn house fire.
At the time of the 911 call, the homeowner's wife was in the house, but managed to evacuate with no injuries.
The blaze at 61 E. 100 South began about 2:30 p.m. Friday. Six hours later, crews were still putting out hot spots, said Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Chad Jensen. To extinguish the intense blaze, fire crews had to cut holes in the two-story house's roof and walls.
Jensen said the fire marshall would begin an investigation Saturday of how the fire started and how much damage it caused.
