NBA notebook: Boozer, Brewer, Bosh and Stoudemire near top of the trade-rumors list

SALT LAKE CITY — According to the Bergen (N.J.) Record, "executives from the (Phoenix) Suns, (Toronto) Raptors and Jazz have been told if they're planning to move their All-Star-caliber big men, the Nets are interested.

"Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh and ... Boozer could be among the biggest names traded before the (NBA's) Feb. 18 deadline, and the Nets don't want to miss out if they are.

"The conversations were exploratory, nothing serious yet. At least one could intensify as the trade deadline nears, probably with the Suns."

And the latest from The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal, which reportedly recently that Memphis contacted the Jazz regarding swingman Ronnie Brewer: "The (Grizzlies) are in talks with several teams, including Utah and Miami. It's not a matter of if but when the Griz pull the trigger on a deal. Basically, they are in a holding pattern as they wait for responses from certain teams they've initiated trade talks with."

LEBRON FINED: LeBron James has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for kicking a water bottle during Cleveland's victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The announcement was made Thursday by Stu Jackson, the league's executive vice president of basketball operations.

The NBA says James kicked a water bottle with 12.4 seconds left in the first quarter of the Cavaliers' 109-95 win Wednesday night.

WEST'S TRIAL POSTPONED: The trial of Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West on weapons charges has been postponed until April 26.

Authorities say West was carrying two loaded handguns, a loaded shotgun and an 81/2-inch Bowie knife while riding a three-wheel motorcycle on the Capital Beltway in Maryland in September. Police say he was pulled over after cutting off an officer.

West had been scheduled to go on trial Feb. 18. He is charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a handgun, transporting a handgun, reckless driving and negligent driving.

The charges are all misdemeanors. Each weapons count carries a penalty of up to three years in prison.

PARKER HURTS ANKLE: San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker is expected to miss several games because of a mild left ankle sprain. He was injured in Wednesday's win over Atlanta.

The Spurs said Thursday that the swelling in Parker's ankle was minimal after being carried off the court Wednesday night. No structural damage was found.

Parker won't play today against Memphis and will also likely sit out Sunday's game against Denver. No timetable for his return has been set.
