Real Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis has been fined $1,000 and suspended for one game for comments made to the Deseret News on Monday. RSL hosts Kreis' former team, FC Dallas, this Saturday.

A few days after last weekend's 2-2 draw with the L.A. Galaxy, Kreis expressed displeasure in an exclusive interview with the Deseret News with several referee decisions over the past three weeks. Among his comments to the News:

"After three successive weeks of game-changing decisions, it's time we vent a little bit and put things right. I have a team doing their best to reward fans through a frustrating time and a frustrating few years. I feel the players are doing what they need to, the coaching staff is doing what they do, but being wronged by critical referee decisions is unacceptable."

"It's about time they start first off trying to be right, and then being fair. It's too many game-breaking calls, all of them against Real Salt Lake."

According to the league press release, "Any coach serving a game suspension may enter his team's locker room prior to and during halftime as well as post-game. The coach may not, however, appear on field level at any time on game day. He may not sit in the press box or grandstands. The coach shall be seated in a private suite or team-provided reserved section."

This is the second time a Real Salt Lake head coach has been suspended. In June of 2006, former coach John Ellinger was suspended for one match for publicly criticizing a referee following a 2-1 loss at Houston.
