• 263,177 — Ages 4 and under

• 575,230 — Ages 5 to 17

• 515,457 — Enrolled in Utah public schools

• 13,000 — Substantiated child-abuse victims in 2007

• 981 — Babies born to teen mothers in 2006

• 85,446 — Living in poverty

• 76,912 — In families receiving food stamps
