House panel readies mine-disaster report

WASHINGTON — The House Education and Labor Committee expects to release the findings of its own investigation into last year's accident at the Crandall Canyon Mine in Emery County at a press conference today.

Committee Chairman George Miller, D-Calif., has held several hearings on the accident that claimed the lives of six miners and three rescuers. The committee would not say whether it deposed Murray Energy head Bob Murray, who it subpoenaed.
