Why does the Catholic Church care if members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints baptize their dead ancestors? I find it ironic that Catholics have been directed by the Vatican not to give information in parish registers to the Mormons' Genealogical Society of Utah. The Catholic Church does not recognize LDS baptisms and the LDS Church does not recognize Catholic baptisms. If the Catholic Church baptized me posthumously, it wouldn't matter.
Does this mean Catholics believe that LDS baptisms have effect after death?
