OGDEN A woman was wounded in what police believe was a gang shooting on Washington Boulevard, outside the grounds of an LDS temple.
Police said it happened around 11 p.m. Sunday. Two carloads of people got into an argument at 20th Street and Washington Boulevard, exchanging words as they drove down the street.
"Right around 22nd Street, words were exchanged again, and one individual from one vehicle fired two rounds into the other vehicle," Ogden Police Lt. Scott Sangberg said Monday.
A 28-year-old woman was shot in the arm. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for her wounds.
The case has been turned over to Ogden's Metro Gang Unit. Police are also contacting The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to see if its security cameras could assist in the investigation.
"It's quite possible that security cameras from the temple in Ogden may have picked up the shooting," Sangberg said.
