PROVO A man charged with possessing child pornography and sexually abusing a young neighbor girl will have a preliminary hearing in June regarding the abuse allegations.
Samuel Seager, 33, is charged in 4th District Court with 13 counts of sex abuse, including forcible sexual abuse of a child, aggravated sex abuse and sodomy on a child. Police allege he sexually touched and forced himself on a 13-year-old and videotaped the abuse.
Seager's attorney, McKay King, asked Monday for an evidentiary hearing in June.
He also asked the judge if Seager's second case, charges of exploitation of a child filed by the Utah Attorney General's Office in February, could track along with it.
Exploitation of a child is related to viewing and downloading child pornography.
Seager was scheduled to enter pleas Monday on the exploitation case, but deferred until June 23.
