Actions loud at the GOP convention

The group included Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert. Herbert raised his hand and, according to Deseret News reporter Ethan Thomas, said, "I'm one of those delegates and I'm going to exercise my right to vote."
Herbert's intervention effectively ended the insurrection. Daw barely earned more than 60 percent of the vote, eliminating Housekeeper, who is contesting the outcome.
Complaints about Utah County Republican Party officers by Housekeeper, deGaston and other challengers to local incumbents were buoyed leading up to the convention by some Salt Lake-area party members.
Utah Republican National Committeewoman Nancy Lord called for unnamed county GOP officers involved in stacking the deck for incumbents to resign in a guest editorial she wrote with Mike Ridgeway and submitted to the Provo Daily Herald.
The Herald did not print the opinion piece.
