After opening the month with the theatrical release of "Emma Smith: My Story," Candlelight Media closed out April with "Rescued." The DVD was released Wednesday.

The film bills itself as an "LDS romantic adventure." Written and co-produced by Brittany Wiscombe, "Rescued" follows the story of Megan Hughes, who finds herself stranded on an island in Indonesia with two co-workers after their plane crashes during a business trip.

Megan is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who has a tendency toward worldliness. The two men stranded with her are strikingly different. Mark Taylor is the arrogant office crush and Chris Russell is the office nobody who has sincere admiration for Megan, who realizes that pursuing the things of the world may cause her to compromise her standards.

"Now isolated from the world, Megan embarks on a journey to find what it really means to be rescued," reads a news release from Candlelight.

The filming of the movie took place last December in Hawaii. "Rescued" is directed and co-produced by Brian Brough.

Candlelight's other credits include "The Times and Teachings of Joseph Smith," "Turn Around (based on the story of Alma the Younger" and "Beauty and the Beast: A Latter-day Tale." All three of the main characters appeared in 2007's "Turn Around." Jaci Twiss plays the role of Megan and Shea Potter plays the role of Chris. Matthew Reese (Mark) has also appeared in "Beauty and the Beast" and "Tears of a King" in addition to "Turn Around."
