Osmonds to join Tabernacle Choir for this year's Pioneer Day concert

The Osmond family will be guest artists with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square for this year's Pioneer Day concert.

The Osmond Brothers and Donny, Marie and Jimmy Osmond will perform at the July 25 and 26 concerts at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Center.

Free tickets are required for admission. Those interested may register at lds.org/events starting Saturday, May 24, at 12:01 a.m. through Monday, June 2, at 11:15 p.m. Those without Internet access may register over the phone at 801-570-0080 or 866-LDS-TIKS. All those who register during those 10 days will have equal chances of receiving tickets in the random selection process.

Family history classes offered

The Family History Library of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is offering free classes at the library, 35 N. West Temple.

• Saturday: Classes on using Personal Ancestral File, the church's software program for organizing family history, include "Adding Sources and Notes," "Using Match/Merge," "Using the Focus Filter Feature" and "Adding Multimedia." Classes run from 9 to 11:45 a.m. and from 12:45 to 3:15 p.m.

• May 10: Classes from 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on FamilySearch indexing will include "How to Do Indexing," "Arbitrating FamilySearch Indexing Batches" and "Indexing Administration." "How to Do Indexing" will be repeated May 16 and May 23 at 10 a.m.

• May 17: A class from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on New England research will cover records, probate, land and tax records, military records and New England collections.

• May 31: German research classes will run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

BYU to stage chamber concerts

Brigham Young University will host the fifth annual Deseret Chamber Music Series, featuring the sounds of Spanish Vihuela and the music of Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, beginning Friday and continuing May 16 and 23. All performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and tickets are not required.

The festival will open Friday in the Madsen Recital Hall of the Harris Fine Arts Center with a performance by the Deseret Piano Trio. It will continue May 16 in the Assembly Hall of the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center with Spanish Vihuela music and end May 23 with the music of Prokofiev.

Single adult conference scheduled
