Announcement of plans to build two more LDS temples brings the total number to 139 of temples in operation or in planning or construction phases.

A Mormon Times articles last week listed an incorrect number.

The dedication of the Rexburg Idaho Temple in February brought the number of operating temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to 125.

Dedicatory sessions have been scheduled for later this year for the Curitiba Brazil Temple, June 1; Panama City Panama Temple, Aug. 10; and Twin Falls Idaho Temple, Aug. 24. So by fall there will be 128 operating temples.

Also under construction are the Draper Utah, Oquirrh Mountain Utah, Tegucigalpa Honduras, Kiev Ukraine, Vancouver British Columbia and Cebu Philippines temples. Those six under construction mean 134 in use or being built.

Plans for five other temples have been announced, but ground has not been broken for those. They are, with announcement dates: Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, Dec. 16, 2006; Manaus, Brazil, May 23, 2007; San Salvador, El Salvador, Nov. 18, 2007; Gila Valley, Arizona, April 26; and Gilbert, Arizona, April 26.
