WENDOVER, Nev. A Kearns man died in a rollover on eastbound I-80 Saturday afternoon.
Juan Meza Naranjo, 68, was wearing a seat belt when his sport utility vehicle overturned about 1:45 p.m., according to documents released by the Tooele County Sheriff's Office.
Naranjo, who had been driving, died at the scene.
Passenger Pedro Naranjo Castillo, 34, of Kearns suffered leg and head injuries and was taken to the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.
The road was clear and dry at the time of the rollover, according to the sheriff's office. The crash occurred after the SUV went off the road to the right, then overcorrected twice. I-80 was closed for about 11 minutes.
