SPRINGVILLE Fine art, fine food and fine entertainment with a taste of Hollywood await patrons of the Springville Museum of Art at the upcoming 42nd annual Art Ball May 3 where the theme is "Putting on the Glitz."
The traditional event at Utah's first fine art museum at 126 E. 400 South also celebrates the opening of the 82nd annual Spring Salon Exhibition and crowning of the coming year's Art Royalty. Proceeds support the development of the museum sculpture garden.
Tickets are $25 in advance, $35 at the door, available at the museum and through local merchants. Call 489-2727 or visit www.smofa.org
"We are really going to give our guests the red carpet treatment this year," said Linda Priest, event co-chairwoman. "We're planning to sweep them away to the glamor of Hollywood."
Patrons are invited to come dressed as their favorite Hollywood screen star for prizes and have their picture taken by paparazzi.
A light buffet will be served from 7-9 p.m., followed by big band dancing until 11 p.m. with the Moonlight Serenaders.
Entertainment will include the Springville High School Singers and Jazz Trio.
