MEN'S TENNIS: The Mountain West Conference announced its 2007-08 All-Conference team and individual awards for men's tennis Wednesday, as selected by the league's seven head coaches. Utah senior Zach Ganger and TCU senior Cosmin Cotet and were named MWC Co-Players of the Year after posting 26-8 and 23-8 marks, respectively. Ganger, who is currently ranked 116th nationally, went 6-0 in league matches at the No. 1 singles position and registered three victories vs. ranked opponents this season. BYU's Thomas Shubert earned MWC Freshman of the Year honors.
New Mexico head coach Alan Dils garnered MWC Coach of the Year accolades. Now in his 12th year with the Lobos, Dils guided 44th-ranked New Mexico to a share of the MWC regular-season title with a 5-1 record in league matches and an 18-7 overall mark.
Utah's other all-MWC player was senior Miron Mann.
Fifth-seeded BYU held off a rally by No. 4 UNLV to defeat the Rebels 4-2 on Thursday in the MWC quarterfinals. The Cougars will face top-seeded TCU in the today at 1 p.m. MDT.
WOMEN'S TENNIS: UNLV senior Elena Gantcheva collected her third MWC Player of the Year honor after posting a 28-10 record this season, including a 7-1 mark in MWC matches at the No. 1 position. Utah's Evgenia Kryuchkova earned MWC Freshman of the Year honors after netting a 23-12 overall record, including a 2-2 mark in MWC action at the No. 2 singles position. The Utes' other all-MWC selections included seniors Elizabeth Ferris and Emily Kwok in singles, and the doubles duo of Ferris and Kwok. BYU's all-MWC honorees included sophomore Kristina Doerr and senior Anastasia Surkova in singles, and Surkova and playing partner Jennifer Miccoli in doubles. TCU head coach Jeff Hammond garnered MWC Coach of the Year accolades.
At Fort Worth Thursday, 4th-seeded Utah posted a 4-0 shutout win over No. 5 BYU in the MWC quarterfinals. The Utes improve to 15-8 overall with the win.

BASEBALL: The T-Birds scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to post an 11-7 victory over Oral Roberts Thursday afternoon.

GOLF: No. 15-ranked UNLV has the lead at 281, but BYU (286) and Utah (288) are in contention after the first round of the Mountain West Conference Men's Golf Championship at Omni Tucson National Golf Course.
