MURRAY The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital is offering free orthopedic screenings at a community health fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at TOSH, 5848 S. 300 East.
The health fair offers a behind-the-scenes look at TOSH's orthopedic surgery, physical therapy and sports medicine programs and the benefits they offer to patients and athletes.
Free screenings include asthma testing, blood pressure testing, pulmonary testing, spine and posture assessments and nutrition counseling. TOSH sports medicine experts will conduct a free golf swing and throwing analysis using TOSH's state-of-the-art motion analysis system and demonstrate TOSH's Acceleration Sports Performance Training Program.
The event also includes seminars, including treatment of arthritis of the hip and total joint surgery at 9 a.m.; low back and neck pain at 10 a.m.; advances in foot and ankle treatment at 11 a.m.; and treatment options for shoulder and knee pain at noon. These will be held in the TOSH auditorium.
TOSH's athletes' kitchen will be open to help participants learn about healthy cooking and making good choices when grocery shopping. And physical therapists and rehab experts will answer questions.
