Tips on how to keep boats clean of quagga mussels or zebra mussels:

• Clean plants, fish, mussels and mud from a boat.

• Drain the water from all areas of the boat and related equipment.

• Dry the boat and equipment in the sun before using it again.

In the summer, let it dry for at least seven days. In the spring and fall, dry it for 18 days. In the winter, leave the equipment out for three days in freezing temperatures.
