PORTLAND, Ore. Three Salt Lake pitchers combined to throw a five-hit shutout Sunday, as the Bees blanked the Portland Beavers 5-0.
Starter Nick Adenhart (3-0) went the first six innings and allowed just four hits with five strikeouts and three walks. Henry Bonilla worked the seventh and Rich Thompson closed out the game with two scoreless innings, as the Bees (16-1) claimed their franchise record 10th straight road game and their eighth consecutive victory overall.
Brad Coon gave the Bees all of the offense they needed, as he homered to right field on the third pitch of the game. Freddy Sandoval and Bobby Wilson had two hits each, while Matt Brown added a two run homer. Kendry Morales and Terry Evans each had one run batted in for Salt Lake.
