PLAYERS ON THE RISE: Whittingham said Thursday that wide receiver Freddie Brown is the most improved football player over the course of the spring. He also praised his linebacking corps, where Mike Wright, Stevenson Sylvester, Nai Fotu and Mo Neal are leading the way.

INJURY REPORT: Several players will be held out of Saturday's scrimmage because of prior injuries or post-surgical recoveries. The most recent injury was to backup quarterback Corbin Louks, who suffered a concussion in last week's scrimmage when he tripped after going out of bounds. He will sit out Saturday's spring game.

NOTES: Thursday was a non-tackle day with players practicing in shoulder pads and shorts ... Whittingham said his team got a lot of good reps in the throw game ... Today will be a shorter, light practice with no pads ... Although 21 players will sit out of Saturday's Red-White Game, several starters will still be competing in the scrimmage.
