Two people were taken to local hospitals in critical condition, one life-threatening, following a two-car accident early Sunday.
Just after 1:30 a.m. a man ran a red light at the intersection of 4100 S. Bangerter Highway and T-boned a vehicle crossing the the road, said West Valley police Capt. Tom McLachlan.
The 46-year-old driver of the vehicle that ran the red light was flown by medical helicopter to a local hospital in extremely critical condition, McLachlan said.
A 42-year-old woman in the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Detectives were looking at whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
