SOFTBALL: In a 1-0 extra innings win in San Diego, Angeline Quiocho hit a game-winning home run in the top of the ninth inning for the Cougars, completing a sweep of No. 18 San Diego State. She went 2-for-4 with a single in the seventh inning. Christina Gwyn-Trice recorded the complete-game shutout.

BASEBALL: Kasey Ko smashed a grand slam to give BYU its first lead of an 11-7 victory Saturday over Washington in Seattle. Ko's slam put BYU up 8-6 in the six-run eighth inning and snapped a three-game skid for BYU as it improved to 15-20 overall. Jonathan Cluff, who extended his hitting streak to a team-leading eight games, followed Ko and his homer made it back-to-back blasts. Washington native Sean McNaughton hit a two-run homer in the ninth to put BYU up 11-7.
