Last-minute tax filers will get a little help from the U.S. Postal Service.
Utah post offices throughout the state will postpone mail collection until midnight on April 15. There are a total of 26 offices with late collection times.
Another option is 29 Automated Postal Centers where postage may be purchased with a credit or debit card. The 24-hour centers print an April 15 mailing label for all postage purchased before midnight.
Postal officials are encouraging customers to send their mail early in the day to avoid expected crowds and remind mailers to affix correct postage. First-class, letter-size mail requires 41 cents for the first ounce and 17 cents for each additional ounce.
Customers are reminded to check collection times on post boxes before depositing their mail to ensure pickup pick up on April 15. Late mailers need to use the collection boxes directly outside post offices with extended hours.
