BASEBALL: The Wolverines (7-23-1) split a doubleheader with Nevada, winning the opener 3-1 and losing the second game 11-3. Nevada will go for a four-game sweep today at 2 p.m. Dan Christensen's solid effort on the mound went for naught as Rod Scurry tossed a 1-0 shutout for Nevada over Utah Valley on Friday night in Reno.

Weber State

MEN'S TENNIS: The Wildcats won their fourth-straight match Saturday with a 7-0 win over Northern Colorado at Edman Courts. On Thursday, Weber State swept Utah State on Wednesday at the Ogden Athletic Club, 7-0. The Wildcats followed that up with a 5-2 victory over Montana on Friday.

SLCC

SOFTBALL: SLCC (30-6) moved up one spot in the NJCAA Division I poll to No. 5. Salt Lake recently swept conference foe North Idaho and is riding a 10-game winning streak. Lindsey Palmer (20-0) leads in the circle with a 0.66 ERA and 194 strikeouts, totals that rank in the top five nationally. Jasey Jensen is the leading hitter with a .443 average and a team leading 40 RBIs.

VOLLEYBALL: Susan Dulaney was announced as the Bruins' head volleyball coach. Dulaney has been the head coach at Western Wyoming College since 2000, where she led the team to Region 9 titles in 2004 and 2006. In 2001 she received the WCCAC Coach of the Year, 2004 named the District I Coach of the Year and in 2006 earned both the Region IX and District Coach of the Year honors.

BASEBALL: The first-place Bruins (30-10, 21-5 SWAC) took two games from CEU on Friday, 8-5 and 11-3.

Chad Ellis threw six innings allowing no earned runs to get the win 8-5 for

Salt Lake. Sean Moysh was 2-for-4 with two RBI' and Cam Smith was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. In the second game, Conor Dwyer threw six innings, allowing two runs.
