Man sought in deaths of 2 in central Utah

MT. PLEASANT— Police are searching for a man in connection with the homicide deaths of two people in central Utah.

The Sanpete County Sheriff's Office released the name of Donald Bert Richardson in connection with the shooting death of a man in Mt. Pleasant and the apparent beating death of a woman in Fairview, five miles away.

According to sheriff's office information released Friday morning, a 39-year-old male died around 11:30 p.m. Thursday due to a gunshot wound. Authorities have not yet confirmed the man's name, but he is believed to be Martin Cannon.

Later Friday afternoon, authorities discovered the body of a woman in Fairview, the victim of a violent beating.

Authorities say Richardson knew both victims.

Richardson is 48 years old with hazel eyes and brown hair. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds.

Police say he may be driving a 1991 burgundy four-door Chrysler New Yorker with license plate number 629VHY.

They say he is considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached. They are asking anyone who spots him or who has information regarding his whereabouts to call the Sanpete County Sheriff's Office, 435-835-2191.
