I read the Deseret Morning News report (April 4) that the remains of early Mormon leader Parley P. Pratt can be moved to Utah. While I sympathize with some of his descendants in wanting Pratt's remains disinterred and reburied in Utah, I really think his final resting place has been safely and securely in Arkansas for 151 years. News reports noted that there are several nearby graves and the possibility of disinterring the wrong corpse is quite probable. I say let Pratt rest in peace. Pratt is already buried in a church-owned cemetery. Let his grave remain undisturbed. The church should intensify that cemetery's place in history by publicizing its existence. Moving everything connected to LDS Church history to Utah would only add to America's tunnel-vision about Mormons.
