SAN ANTONIO Utah State guard Jaycee Carroll's appearance at the NCAA 3-point shootout was a brief one as the two-time honorable mention All-American failed to advance beyond the first round.
Carroll, who led the NCAA in 3-point shooting after hitting 49.8 percent of his attempts this year, started out well, scoring four points on each of the first two racks of balls, but went cold over the final three racks and finished the round with only 14 points. That was the lowest total of the eight shooters in the competition.
LaSalle University's Darnell Harris outlasted the other seven competitors to be the 3-point shootout winner.
The Aggie senior from Evanston is not done with Final Four festivities, though. Carroll will participate in an all-star game today at 4 p.m.
That game will be broadcast on CSTV.
