Reward is increased in dog-tossing case
The Animal Advocacy Alliance of Utah has added an additional $5,000 to the reward pot, more than doubling the $3,000 already committed by the Humane Society of Utah.
Wednesday afternoon, motorists along I-15 saw someone either drop or toss Seven, a 1-year-old boxer, about 15 feet off the overpass at 3900 South. Traffic came to a halt as a couple of motorists got out of their cars to corral the frightened and injured dog who began running down the highway.
The only description given to the Utah Highway Patrol was a red SUV, with either rails or a rack on the roof. A UHP spokesman said Saturday there had been no additional leads in the case.
Seven lost four teeth, suffered a broken jaw that required several pins to be inserted, a broken rib and blood in her lungs. Remarkable, she was able to go home from the vet clinic Friday.
Anyone with information can call police at 840-4000.
