The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food has set a free pesticide pickup day for April 22, at the Utah Department of Transportation road shed, located at 637 W. Highway 6 in Santaquin.
Since the program began in 1993, more than 90 tons of unused pesticides have been collected at locations throughout the state. Those wanting to participate are asked to register by contacting a county Agriculture Department agent or downloading a form from the Web site, ag.utah.gov/plantind/PestDisposalLetter.pdf, and then faxing the form to 801-538-7189.
Those dropping off pesticide need to first determine what type of materials they have. The entire process can be done anonymously. For information call 801-538-7187.
