WOODS CROSS — Police on Monday arrested two people they say are responsible for a string of armed robberies in south Davis County.

Around 5 p.m., the couple robbed the Apple grocery store, 1504 S. 800 West in Woods Cross, at gunpoint, said Bountiful Police Cpl. Todd Hixson.

Officers followed the couple into Salt Lake City but eventually called off the pursuit, Hixson said. Then the couple crashed into a parked car near 1000 N. Redwood.

After a foot chase, police arrested a man, 18, and a woman, 20, on suspicion of aggravated robbery. The woman was also being held on drug charges. Officers found several weapons inside the car, Hixson said.

Police believe the couple is responsible for recent armed robberies at a Maverik in Bountiful and a Sinclair in North Salt Lake.
