BYU

MEN'S TENNIS: The Cougars lost their second consecutive Mountain West Conference match on Friday, falling 6-1 to a tough No. 31 TCU. The Cougars (12-9, 0-2) also lost 4-3 to UNLV on Thursday.

WOMEN'S TENNIS: The No. 47 Cougars won their first Mountain West Conference match of the season on Friday, recording a 4-0 sweep over UNLV. With the win the Cougars improve to 9-8 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

BYU

TRACK & FIELD: The BYU women's and men's track and field squads will compete at the Arizona State Invitational today, with the field events starting at 11 a.m. and running events starting at 6:30 p.m.

Utah

ADMINISTRATION: Kate Charipar, the University of Utah athletic department's assistant director of compliance since 2006, has been promoted to director of compliance. Charipar worked at the NCAA Clearinghouse for six years before coming to Utah.

Utah State

WOMEN'S TENNIS: The Aggies downed Dixie State, 7-0, Friday to improve to 5-9 on the season.

SOFTBALL: Freshman shortstop Kelley Kaneshiro smacked her fifth home run for one of the Aggies' two runs scored against Fresno State. The Bulldogs (32-5, 2-0) won 6-1 and 9-1 in Logan.

USU falls to 6-20 on the season and 0-5 in WAC action.

MEN'S GOLF: At Arroyo Grande, Calif., Devin Daniels shot a two-under 70 in the third and final round of the Cal Poly Men's Intercollegiate on Friday to lead the Aggies to a fifth-place finish in the 14-team field. Daniels finished the 54-hole tournament in sixth place.

Utah Valley

MEN'S GOLF: Utah Valley junior Nick Nelson fired a pair of 1-under 71s and tied for second through two rounds of the Cal Poly Men's Intercollegiate on Thursday in Arroyo Grande, Calif.

Weber State

WOMEN'S TENNIS: The Wildcats ended a four-match losing streak on Friday with a 5-2 win over Cal-State Bakersfield at the Ogden Athletic Club.
