Two men who police say robbed a Salt Lake store at gunpoint, tied up an employee and locked her in a restroom, were arrested Tuesday near Wendover.
Just before 1 p.m., three men entered Pueblitos Joyeria, 876 W. 800 South, wearing flannel shirts. One displayed a handgun, said Salt Lake police detective Jeff Bedard. The trio bound the hands of one woman, locked her in the bathroom, took undisclosed items from the store and left.
Not long after, Tooele police received a call reporting two men dumping jewelry boxes out of their car. Police spotted the vehicle near Wendover. The men were positively identified as two of the robbers in the Salt Lake incident and they were arrested, Bedard said. Both the gun and items taken during the robbery were recovered, he said.
The men were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated robbery.
