The Springville Museum of Art announces a call for entries for its 84th Annual Spring Salon to be held from April 27-July 6. Deadline for receiving artwork is April 8-12. For more information and submission guidelines, call 489-2727.

Pam Crowe-Weisberg has stepped down from her position as executive director of the Kimball Art Center. Crowe-Weisberg joined the center in January 2004 and is leaving to attend to family matters. "She leaves the center in excellent condition for future growth," said Kimball chairman, Bruce Larrabee.

The Friends of Merrill-Cazier Library, Utah State University, will host a traveling exhibit, "Poetas Y Pintores: Contemporary Artists Conversing with Verse," from April 1-May 4 in the library foyer. The exhibit, organized by the Center for Women's InterCultural Leadership at Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana, and the Institute of Latino Studies, University of Notre Dame, includes 12 poems by 12 contemporary poets and 12 artworks by 12 contemporary Latino visual artists. The Utah Watercolor Society will meet Tuesday evening at 7 at Wheeler Historic Harm, 6359 S. 900 East. Travis Tanner of Tanner Frame Company will present aspects of framing art. The public is invited to the free event.

Local Colors of Utah, 535 S. 700 East, is looking for artists who want to exhibit their work in painting, photography, potter, stained glass, fiber and wood. For more information, contact Catherine Hosetter at pureart3@comcast.net.

The Ogden Nature Center announces a call for entries for children who love nature. This year's annual Earth Day Art Poster Contest has the theme of "Be A Planet Protector."
