PROVO "Meet the Mormons: Public Perception and the Global Church" is the topic of the 19th annual International Society Conference April 7, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Assembly Hall at the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center at Brigham Young University.
Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who will be attending include, BYU President Cecil O. Samuelson, a member of the Seventy, Elder Douglas L. Callister of the Seventy and Elder Lance B. Wickman of the Seventy, who is general counsel for the LDS Church. Former Utah governor Olene S. Walker will also attend.<
Conference panelists include BYU faculty, representatives from Church International and Public Affairs, Area Seventies and former mission presidents.
Organized in 1989, the International Society is an association of professionals with international interests who are members or friends of the LDS Church.
The conference is free and the public is welcome. The luncheon is $14 per person and spaces are limited. Please RSVP by Wednesday to the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies at 801-422-3377
