Police on Monday arrested two people they say are responsible for a string of armed robberies in Bountiful and North Salt Lake.
Around 5 p.m., the couple robbed the Apple grocery store, 1504 S. 800 West in Woods Cross, at gunpoint, said Bountiful police Cpl. Todd Hixson.
Officers followed the couple into Salt Lake, but eventually called off the pursuit, Hixson said. Then the couple crashed into a parked car near 1000 North and Redwood Road.
After a foot chase, police arrested an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of aggravated robbery. The woman was also being held on drug charges Monday. Officers found several weapons inside the car, Hixson said.
Police believe the couple is responsible for armed robberies last week at a Maverick in Bountiful and a Sinclair in North Salt Lake.
