Was: 1. Last week: 2-1. Outlook: The T-Wolves beat some tough teams in California and only lost an extra-inning contest. Next up: at West Jordan, today.

2. Spanish Fork (8-1) Class: 5A

Was: 2. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Dons are loaded on the mound; if their bats continue to heat up, watch out. Next up: at Viewmont, Friday.

3. Taylorsville (3-1) Class: 5A

Was: 5. Last week: 3-1. Outlook: Once again the Warriors proved they are for real with three wins at a good tournament in California. Next up: at Bingham, Friday.

4. American Fork (6-1) Class: 5A

Was: 8. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Cavemen have the athletes to compete against anyone. Two quality wins last week proved it. Next up: vs. Jordan, Wednesday.

5. Alta (4-0) Class: 5A

Was: 16. Last week: 4-0. Outlook: No team had a better week than the Hawks. Three wins in Vegas and a route over a pretty good Weber team was impressive. Next up: vs. Lone Peak, today.

6. Cottonwood (1-2) Class: 4A

Was: 3. Last week: 0-2. Outlook: The Colts had their usual stumbles against 5A competition in preseason, but they are still one of the top teams in the state. Next up: at Phil Nevin Tournament, Calif.

7. Pleasant Grove (7-2) Class: 5A

Was: 9. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Vikings continue to win as they break in plenty of new, talented players to the lineup. Next up: at Cyprus, Wednesday.

8. Pine View (7-1) Class: 4A

Was: 11. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: How will having to play basically meaningless games against the split Region 9 affect the Panthers? Next up: vs. Canyon View, today.

9. Jordan (3-0) Class: 5A

Was: 15. Last week 3-0. Outlook: Apparently the 'Diggers have plenty of talent left after their best senior class ever departed. Next up: at American Fork, Wednesday.

10. Riverton (4-1) Class: 5A

Was: 13. Last week: 3-1. Outlook: The Silverwolves are nearly perfect. Only an extra-inning loss to Jordan has them with a blemish. Next up: at Timpanogos, Friday.
