OGDEN — Ogden will host the 2009 Youth Archery World Championships.

More than 450 archers between 14 and 18 are expected to gather at Weber State University for the competition July 11-19, 2009.

The event will also be the main qualifier for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010.

The International Archery Federation says Ogden's commitment to the project made it a strong choice for the location.

The federation made the announcement Friday.
