Was: 1. Last week: 1-0-1. Outlook: 'Diggers host Copper Hills, which has been very impressive early, to wrap up preseason. Next up: vs. Copper Hills, Tuesday.

2. Brighton (2-0-1)

Was: 2. Last week: 0-0. Outlook: Must successfully navigate tricky games against Lone Peak and Bingham before showdown with arch-rival Alta next week. Next up: at Lone Peak, Tuesday.

3. Bountiful (2-0-2)

Was: 4. Last week: 1-0-1. Outlook: Should be noted that Bountiful secured draws against the two teams above them. Not bad at all. Next up: vs. Sky View, Tuesday.

4. Alta (5-0-1)

Was: 5. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: High-flying Hawks almost had wings clipped by Copper Hills but pulled out win in OT and now won't play again for almost two weeks. Next up: vs. Brighton, March 4.

5. Viewmont (3-1)

Was: 7. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Vikes took care of business in Week 1 of Region 1. Next up: at Weber, Thursday.

6. Layton (3-1)

Was: 8. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Beat neighbor Davis a week ago and show signs of being an outstanding side. Next up: at Syracuse, Thursday.

7. Woods Cross (3-1)

Was: 9. Last week: 0-0. Outlook: Next two weeks should tell us how good the Wildcats really are. Next up: vs. Bonneville, Friday.

8. Weber (3-0-1)

Was: 13. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Upset then third-ranked Davis and then took care of business against Syracuse. Next up: vs. Viewmont, Thursday.

9. Mtn. View (2-1-2)

Was: 6. Last week 0-1. Outlook: Couldn't find the back of the net against youthful but talented Copper Hills. Next up: vs. American Fork, Tuesday.

10. Pine View (4-0-1)

Was: 10. Last week: 1-0-1. Outlook: Trip up to northern Utah didn't trip up Panthers, who now have a legit chance to enter the playoffs with an undefeated record. Next up: at Hurricane, Tuesday.

11. Davis (1-2)
