Senate bill a big boon for incumbents
• No one can run against anyone already on the Jordan Board of Education. They've been grandfathered in.
• Anyone who filed to challenge an incumbent will receive a $25 filing fee refund.
• Some incumbents will have their four-year terms extended by two years, and one incumbent, by four years.
• Incumbents not wanting a seat on the new boards must resign and be replaced by appointment, as determined by fellow board members.
