LOGAN — Southern Utah gymnastics wrapped up its regular season with its third win over the Utah State, 195.075-193.150 Friday night. It was the regular-season finale for both and the Aggies' senior night.

The Thunderbirds, 10-5-1 and 6-2 in the WAC, had the top two all-arounders and the top three spots on beam. USU fell to 5-15, 2-6.

Our starters on each event really got us off to a great start, and there was a lot of confidence and aggression tonight, SUU coach Scott Bauman said. I really think we are peaking at the right time.

The Thunderbirds began with a bang with their second-highest bars score this year, 49.025, led by Elise Wheeler and Jenna Vogt with 9.875s. They tied for second place behind Utah State's Nicole Simoneau's career-best 9.90. Aggie senior Megan Tschida won floor with 9.90.

The T-Birds benefited from two Aggie falls on the bars and beam to hold the lead.

Next up for the teams is the Western Athletic Conference Championships on March 29 in Boise. t
