The Salt Lake City Public Library board of directors has narrowed its list of candidates for a new library director to three people:
• Elizabeth Elder, director of planning, Denver Public Library.
• Britton Lund, assistant director, Salt Lake City Public Library.
• Kathlin Ray, university librarian, American University of Sharjah (United Arab Emirates).
The second of a two-day interview process will be today. The candidates will be present, and the public will be invited to participate.
Interested residents are invited to attend today's board meeting from 10-11:30 a.m., in the level 4 conference room of the Main Library.
Comments from the public and library staff are requested immediately following the presentations. Comments may be provided by calling Bobbi Bohman at 524-8203, visiting the Web site www.slcpl.org, "Contact Us"), or filling out a comment form at any city library location.
The library board will review all the information from public comment, staff input, and interview experiences and provide its recommendation to the Library Board.
The library board is charged with hiring the library director and expects to reach a decision in April.
