BRADLEY JACKSON, Gunnison, baseball: This senior led the team in strikeouts with 115 a year ago as the Bulldogs won a state championship, and it appears he is just continuing right where he left off. He has two wins on the mound already and did not allow a run in those two outings.

"Bradley is probably our most talented pitcher," said coach Jared Anderson.""He has all the tools to play at the next level and has an ERA under two right now. He is also a good student and a candidate for academic all-state."

Jackson is in double digits in strikeouts and is also swinging the bat well with a couple of RBIs and a triple to his credit.

KELSEY NAYLOR, Sky View, softball: This junior pitcher is leading the Bobcats offensively and defensively with a solid 6-1 start.

"She loves to compete," said Sky View head coach Shane Jones. "She loves to win. ... It's fun to see a girl compete that hard. She's a great mix of serious-get-out and play-hard, but when the game is over, she's all about having fun."

Naylor is a three-sport athlete who is batting .400 and has earned 54 strike outs while allowing just four walks in seven games.

"Her strength is control," said Jones. "She does a good job of getting girls to swing at pitches."
